Creative Inspiration

I have recently been introduced to some amazing artists whose work and I have been lusting over and can't stop thinking about! With them in mind, I have decided to make a wonderful collage of art to place above our couch when we move into our new apartment mid-August. Space is very limited and the place is going to be pretty much all 'old apartment' without any vintage charm. I am happily making plans on how I can creatively make the place over without any actual painting or renovations. Here are just some of the pieces I have been loving!

This is my new favorite artist, Charmaine Olivia. She does drawings, paintings, and photos and they are simply unique and beautiful. I love her use of the female form and animals, often together!
I hope she doesn't mind that I am using her photo as my blog header! It's just gorgeous.

Awesome. More from Charmaine Olivia.

Decals by Shanna Murray. I love the simplicity of these. I'm thinking either bathroom or bedroom for this with one of our wedding photos or just any cheesy photo of us.

Photography by Irene Suchocki.

Sammy the Seagull by Wayne Pate.

So perfect. By Tuesday Mourning.

I'm learning French right now and we plan on taking a trip there in the next year or so. This would be perfect above our bed! By Penny Wishes.

I have been eying this doily clock for over a year now. I think it would go perfectly in our kitchen. I love the industrial and feminine mix of this piece. From andfurthermore.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to purchase all of these items so I am going to have to choose a few and supplement with other creative wall ideas. I already have some blue wood frames with fun fabrics framed and waiting when we get home, which might fit perfectly on the main living room wall. I also want to hang the wooden cross we got during out wedding ceremony as well as a handwritten bible verse (or two) written in flowing cursive watercolor. I'm collecting the verses as I find them and will then present them to Mark for the deciding vote. Here are some I like.

"This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them." -- the people, about Jesus (Luke 15:2)
"For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them." -- Jesus (Matt. 18:20)
No one can receive anything except what has been given from heaven. (John 3:27)
"Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." -- Jesus (Luke 12:32)
"Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own." -- Jesus (Matt. 6:34)
"Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God." -- Jesus (Luke 6:20)---I'm liking this one the most, as it rings close to home in our current situation.

Hopefully it turns out as spectacular in real life as it does in my head.
